Flowminder is a growing and maturing not-for-profit organisation. We are now looking for someone to support our users. This is an exciting opportunity to help an impactful and growing not-for-profit at a key time in the organisation's growth and thereby support the future impact of the organisation.

This role will report to the Head of Engineering.

The Role

  • Ensure that all staff have the hardware and software required to carry out their work, including purchasing and providing Apple, Windows and Linux machines 
  • Ensure that backup and recovery procedures and policies are carried out in practice
  • Ensure users have access to systems appropriate to their jobs 
  • Maintain records relating to system changes, staff access, and faults
  • Ensure hardware is properly maintained and monitor the performance of systems
  • Maintain the IT Asset Register
  • Provide support to users, utilising third-party companies and manufacturers
  • Take part in the onboarding/offboarding of new staff with respect to IT 
  • Promote and instruct users on IT best practices including file management, terminology, email and web use
  • Google Drive administration
  • Ensure IT is used appropriately, with regard to confidentiality and any relevant legislation
  • Promote the maximum use of Information Technology Systems
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested

 

Role requirements

  • Formal training in IT/computing
  • Experience in administering systems and users in small/medium organisations
  • Detailed knowledge of Google Suite of tools, 
  • Ability to write procedures and integrate third-party services
  • Commitment to equal opportunities

  • Ability to travel/operate from area offices when necessary
